Coming up in June’s newsletter from Cashmore Early Years Centre you can read about a wonderful and active final term, with the garden in full bloom and the children making the most of the warm weather.
In Hippo and Giraffe Groups the two-year-olds have been enjoying a rich programme of water play, using pipettes to develop fine motor skills, exploring floating and sinking with rubber ducks and sponges, bringing the song Five Little Ducks to life with gutters and water, and enjoying water-themed stories including Mr Gumpy’s Outing and Duck in the Truck.
In Zebra and Tiger Groups the three-year-olds had an exciting trip to Windmill Hill City Farm, travelling by train from Lawrence Hill to Bedminster and walking through a park to reach the farm, where they met sheep, geese, piglets and a wide range of other animals and plants before enjoying packed lunches and play in the gravel pit together.
You can also read about the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic end of year celebration on Wednesday 15 July to which all families are invited, important information about session and meal price increases from September, resources from the Starting Reception website to help children prepare for school, a free Big Brush Club oral health webinar for parents, and a Bristol City Council letter about measles vaccination.
