We would like to share with you information about a support group for parents and carers of children with complex medical needs.
Navigation and Nurture is a monthly group for parents who have a child with a profound disability and/or medical complexities.
The sessions are aimed at parents who are relatively new to this parenting path – typically parents whose child is under the age of 8.
The group offers parents an opportunity to meet other parents on a similar path, to learn about what support is available to them and their children, and to support each other with the emotional impact of parenting a child with a profound disability.
It is a warm, friendly and welcoming group.
There is a small budget to cover transport for those who would not otherwise be able to attend sessions.
Experienced playworkers are in the room so parents can bring their children and a small voluntary donation is asked for this.
We know this group of parents have a particularly challenging parenting journey and that this support is well needed.
This project is being run by Murmuration Community Therapy and supported by Bristol Parent-Carers and The Family Hubs.
Parents can book a place here.
